I was afraid it would tip over. I bought long metal tent stakes, there are holes in the base for them to go in. I hammered them in easily though not completely. Perhaps this kept it from falling over on impacts.
The metal is very sturdy. I gave it 4 out of 5 since I felt it needed the stakes to stabilize though it did not want to try it without them.
I would recommend the device so far for backyard practice.

I like this style of stand much more than the brackets that hold wood for legs. Once set up with furring strips and cardboard, I can pick up the entire target system with one hand and move it to wherever it needs to be.

We will have to replace the wood every few times because we have already got some major splinters from hits. If you hit only the target area it should last a very long time. Switching the wood is easy though, so not a huge issue.
I "killed" one of the clips that they send with this to hold the targets right off the bat getting ready to sight in a new gun, but I like the idea of being able to replace them at Staples. The whole setup was quite sturdy and my targets stayed flat. Good value for the money. (Carry some extra clips in case you do what I did). I'd have never thought of using them to hold a target. Works great and I'm happy. very portable too.
